PP Place in the story

Phoenix Point needs to have it's own place in the game story. Is it a faction or is it some other entity? Either let them make their own soldiers, tech and research or make it a force similar to UN which works on a diplomatic level. We need to understand better what PP actually is and I don't feel that this is clear now.
Let PP have it's own identity and let players better identify with PP.

I agree. There is a lot to unpack about the Phoenix Project, but most of the juicy stuff is rooted in the past. What we know of the time between when it was officially dissolved and the present day suggests that they acted behind the scenes, manipulating events to try and give humanity a fighting chance. The Project could certainly use more fleshing out on the whole, on everything from its present-day representation to where they get their other, non-military personnel from (researchers, fabricators, agriculturists, etc).

I agree. XCOM needs less set up, as it's role and origin is easier to grasp and more relatable. Still, it had a much clearer introduction the PP does.
While there is a neat intro, explaining what PP was before the colapse, it's introduction into the game put me off balance. As far as I understand we play as random survivors who stubled upon the base and use their facilities.
With supposed upgrades to tech research and diplomacy it might fix some of the problem, but I would also wish for a simply better introduction to the world and our "heroes".
