Allies with the Pure
Richard Vu
Im a bit disappointed that the pure gets introduced in early game and we can wipe them from the map not too much longer during the mid game. I for one welcome our new robot overlords and wished there was a route where we could be pure robots or have exclusive augmentions by being Pure friendly. We dont need a complete new faction, just a choice where you can be friends with them and some minor conflict resolutions with the main factions

Eh I think time could be better spent in other parts of the game. The pure fulfilled their purpose by being early-game bullies that were heavily armored and had cool energy shields, and then unlocking the tech to make such units yourselves. I don't see much benefit with adding them as allies outside of making the lore friendlier to Pure fanboys/girls

Not being able to align with the "Pure goals" is a huge missed opportunity. Probably the designers were considering the Pure ideology was too alien, but ehh.. it's a SciFi. We demand choices. >> CHOICES <<! :)

Gergely Mészáros: hahaha nice flair at the end. I read your comment in Subject 24's voice. We were a potential ally, --AN ALLY-- in the game, but then Snapshot Games, the traitors --THE TRAITORS--, pulled the plug.

I am hoping some extra interaction diplomacy depth is added later on for The Pure and The Forsaken later on down the road once more dlcs have dropped.
They are both so thematically interesting.

I bought year one edition, and didn't look at what any of the dlcs were. Went in blind, not even knowing as things appeared if they were base game or expansion.
When I got the first message from the Pure, I pretty much immediately thought "YES, these guys are my favorite faction, I'm supporting the robo-boys." Since they aren't exactly hostile in that first bit, I didn't even register them as antagonistic. More like victims of NJ. I was fixing them to be my main allies.
Then I suddenly found myself in a fight against them (and Synendrion) followed by a very antagonistic cutscene. I was left thinking "What? But we're friends! I helped you! Why are you acting like we're such enemies?" I went and googled how to ally/support them since I was confused. It was only then I learned they were dlc. And of course it was also when I learned they are only included as an automatic enemy, which is highly dissapointing.

When you have Mecs in XCOM expansion and sequel and in the Long War, we should also have them in PP.
Even Apocalypse had its Androids.
And, as Vit Barta says, unlike all the weirdos added to xcom games (EXALT, Lost etc) or to PP, the lore of this one doesn't have to make it antagonistic.

"playable" Pure
FGG GOD FGG GOD
When DLC Blood and Titanium first came out I thought it would add a new faction with its own ending and technology, but what I got was enemies that are already in the middle game are cannon fodder and nothing more.
If the hostility of the Forsaken can be justified by the fact that they do not have any team structure and are just mutants, in the case of the purity of their hostility is justified by exactly nothing (and in contrast to the mutants have an ideology). They as well as other factions realize the danger of pandoravirus and essentially recognize it as the main enemy.
I propose to add them "Completeness" (Endings and a couple of unique technologies, events). Since this is a sub-faction of Jericho no technological identity is out of the question. The faction can be implemented as one strong haven (Every cyborg is a walking tank with immunity to mind control).

Just do it. Please.

I love this idea!
There's already plenty of us that would like the option to fully cyborg up our soliders and this would make 100% sense with that.
Maybe give us several research/ diplo options with the Pure, and in one branch we help them fix the problems that are making them go psycho and we can recruit fully cybered up soldiers!
It's not like it's unbalanced, the implants take away armor and need tech to be fixed anyway, which hurts a lot.

The pure have so much potential (POTENTIAL), like converting other faction destroyed havens into pure ones that you can trade, recruit or sabotage. I find weird they don't have their own ending since becoming mechanical is a sci fi trope very apropiate in apocalyptic settings.
