Electric Reinforcement also needs a balance pass

It has two abuses atm:
- It stacks with itself making your soldiers almost immune to any damage for one turn. If you bring multiple Technicians to a mission you can make your party immune to damage for the whole combat. How? because of 2.
- It costs 0 AP and it allows you to use it and then use Recover right after and you get all your WP back. With two technicians in your party you can keep both somewhere and keep doing this every turn and have all your characters get "free" +40 to armor on all their body parts making them immune to most enemy weapons.

INVULNERABILITY
Just look at this video: https://youtu.be/RhcLtnEWDfU?t=300
Michael Carver
walan: And how does one get a full squad of techs all at level 7? Not to mention build that many turrets. Command Console?
John Gonon
Michael Carver: simple, wait to ally with NJ to dual class soldiers, steal laser tech from synedrion to have Gorgon Eye-A. Granted it is not start of game, you have to level your soldiers up to level 7.
But in the end, this example is just pushed to the extreme, mobility is terrible. I built a team of heavies once and wiped the floor with the pandorans just nuking or bashing them after jet jump. One technician for the +20 was already very good at dissuading the enemy from attacking. With 60 armor and 300HP you feel quite safe. You take care of snipers and you're good.
Michael Carver
2 techs casting Electric Reinforcement and then recovering will points technically removes 2 units from combat. That's a penalty in and of itself. Plus it does require 4 action points to recover, another built in penalty..
T
Torinus
Michael Carver: It removes 2 but makes other 6 almost immortal. Also it does not really remove them as you can easily do one round of actions and not recover and then do that next turn. And on that round you can throw turrets that fight for you and then buff everyone's armor through the roof.
Matt Williams
Well, really you just need one priest/technician with maxed out will. Drop 2 reinforcements, then do a recover. Invincible troopers for only one personnel slot.

Fix #1 , it should not stack. #2 is fine because the cost of having another soldier and it spending its time not killing or even trying to kill anything.
John Gonon
Clayton Cross: I guess that if it doesn't stack we don't really need to make it 1AP. But I personnaly don't like abilities that take no time.
T
Torinus
Clayton Cross: I guess I could live with that, especially since Techs don't get willpoints when their turrets kill stuff.
C
Carol Phillips
its only good for your turn though. When it switches to enemy turn, it reduces that effect back to what it was.
John Gonon
Carol Phillips: Once the Pandorans get their turn the armor buff is gone ? You mean it's only good to protect against overwatch & return fire ?
T
Torinus
Carol Phillips: That is not true. It gets removed after alien turn but before your turn starts and only does not affect turrets which I am sure is an oversight
C
Carol Phillips
John Gonon: I noticed when my turn started a little flash banner pops up and says its -150 armor or something like that. I'm not sure how much remains if any, I will have to notice that more closely. I was wondering why have the buff if it doesn't stay for the enemy turn. If I'm wrong, I apologize. Torinus says it stays. If so, whats the little flash banner?
T
Torinus
Carol Phillips: When you activate it, it gives +20 armor to each body part of all your units and it shows total armor given above each of them. It lasts until aliens had their turn and then same thing shows up but this time is says - that same number.
C
Carol Phillips
Torinus: I'll pay better attention, but I thought it said minus 150 when the turn changes to enemy.
T
Torinus
Carol Phillips: It could be that you had some alien mind controlled so he also got the bonus or something?! Or did they mind control your guy so he lost the bonus?
I know all your allies get the bonus, not just your soldiers.
John Gonon
Never tried it myself because just reading the description shows it's obviously OP.
It shouldn't stack.
