Add to the game more variety on the missions like:
Explore abandoned big cities looking for old knowledge, in labs, factories;
Protect faction caravan being attacked by pandorans/enemy faction;
-Haven Leaders give you missions to increase, reputation with the haven, like, destroy raider camp, save captured civilians, attack nearby enemy haven, send resources to allied haven.
This would allow to get more reputation with the haven leader and get access to...(that's is in another ticket)

Danforth Update - v 1.0.58746 - 11/06/2020
Scavenging sites are now bigger and split up into three types based on the objective.
Recovering resources
Rescuing soldiers
Recovering vehicles
Players can encounter any one of these three types of scavenging site missions and they’ll have to complete the objectives while fending off against constant enemy reinforcements.

I know this is related to in-dev stuff, but I have to reiterate...
It would be nice if there was more breathing room in-between missions,
And / OR, there were more mission types available. As it stands there is really just one mission type (Kill everything), with random optional side objectives in mission (that amount to either protect Civilian or structure). There's one or two story missions that are Subdue a critter, or extract your team (though extraction is usually locked until you've basically killed everything already), but they are rare and basically the same.
It can be exhausting running the same basic mission for hours/days/weeks on end with no break or significant difference. Like sitting in school 6 hours running the same basic algebra equations. No matter how much you love Algebra, sometimes Biology, or Geometry, P.E., or Study Hall is a nice and much needed break.

There will be more types of Scavenging Missions. One of them will be that your soldiers need to go to crates and collect the resources from them. Your soldiers can evacuate at any time. Enemies have infinite reinforcements and do not attack crates. Other scavenging mission types will be rescue soldiers and retrieve vehicles. These missions will give you free soldiers or vehicles after completing them.

Vit Barta: Hello, I don't find that a good idea to have "infinite reinforcements". That there is a lot of reinforcements, ok but not infinite :) That's ma point of view :)
Vit Barta
Waric Anderson: We think that it is a good idea for this particular mission. If the reinforcements were not infinite, it would probably lead to just killing all the enemies and collecting all the crates. With infinite reinforcements, you must collect crates while fighting the enemy which also brings a nice risk-reward mechanic. The more crates you want to collect the more you have to risk.
Ben
Waric Anderson: By making it a no-win encounter, you have to weigh up the costs of pushing further from the extraction point for more rewards. Also, you'll have to carry the loot back for extraction, and so load out for the mission becomes even more important, along with bumping points into strength. This is gonna add a whole different strategy layer to the game.
Waric Anderson
Vit Barta and Ben : ok ^^ you are right :) I understand :)

I like the idea!
But will they get reinforcements on every turn (if you don't kill them, they become overwhelming) or after we killed the current ones? So lets say if there are 10 units, you have killed 2 in a turn, they will get 2 new units?

Frederic Baissac
Vit Barta: well, I'm not convinced by this mission type. In the facts, the risk is too big to engage the mission. I will skip these ones all the time if it's the case.
Steve Crook
Vit Barta: So there would be the opportunity to build XP by extending combat until lack of ammo/injuries forced evac? Or would you cap it?
walan
Vit Barta: That can backfire.
At the moment there are the so-called "Terminator" builds, with which "risk" becomes an infinite "reward".

Adding variants to the current mission types would also go a long way towards improving variety.
For example, scavenging missions can have a variant where there's a supply vault and you have to defend it while unlocking it after interacting with a terminal for a few turns.
I also read that a proposed change to scavenging missions where players will have to go to the crates, which will become interactable, and loot the resources. For instance, if the enemies during that mission are human, then perhaps either side can attempt to loot the resources. However, looting variants might require extraction, for both sides, so the player has an opportunity to loot them off enemy units after downing them.
A variety of objective requirements would alleviate a lot of the monotony felt by a lot of players

New environments are being worked on and will be added with a free update alongside DLC 2. There will be DLC 2 specific new environments as well. We are also planning new mission objectives.

Another good type akin to abandoned towns would be to explore the fallen haven once for resources/tech. It should really be the type that was in the first single-mission demos of PP - a lot of bodies, creepy tentacles everywhere, some enemies.

Add to the list "Rescue faction soldiers from aircraft crash site." Could be a variation on the standard civilian defense mission, the ambush mission, or a combination of the two.

It'd be nice to have other factions present in scavenging missions, it makes more sense (why are crabs trying to kill crates of apples - maybe when the enemy faction feels outgunned they'll try a scorched earth tactic so their deaths won't be benefitted from) and it'd offer some interesting choices.
Do you really need resources and can take the diplomacy hit? Is it a faction you're allied with, or want to be allied with?
With a faction that you have a higher diplomacy rating with you could choose to share the resources without a battle, or potentially fight pandoran's alongside them for shared resources.
