More Soldier Customization Options

How about someone spends some time with the female models and make them distinctive, interesting, and omg attractive even? Take a moment and compare with the male models. It is clear that 95% of the time and effort was spent on just one of the genders. Try to imagine that some players like myself immediately gives everyone a sex change to female. Except for that starting dude you are always stuck with who immediately gets renamed "Blade" and hopefully has the sword perk.

I have to say this is one of the most disappointing features of Phoenix Point for me. When i play a game, one of the biggest enjoyments i get is from customising the characters i am playing, but the customisations in this game are REALLY basic and totally uninspiring

The color scheme should match the lore: no toxic colors XCOM2 has a kink: soldiers sometimes look like clowns from a circus or escaped mental hospital patients. Add textures similar to modern army camouflage (NATO, "pixel," etc.).

More hairstyles for a god of hairstyles?
I would prefer the developers to focus on the gameplay.

Sergey Kykov: For me this is gameplay. Each goddamned mission the soldier order is RANDOM. Even when I take time to order them in the plane the way I want them to take their turns during each round. So I try to hair style and color code the soldiers so I can at least click on or see that I am looking at a heavy or assault or sniper or infiltrator or whatever The game used to be good at that, but then in this one patch it kind of regressed into bland gray portraits. Extremely frustrating.

Dirk Bester: There are no "gemaplay for me". You can call snow green, but this does not stop white from being the color of snow. Gameplay has nothing to do with the look unless it is about changing the look. You're writing about usability, not gameplay.

Add to that the option of making helmets visible in the portraits :)

voiceovers are a bit limited at the moment

many of the voiceovers sound eastern european, which is fine but can't we have a broader range of voices and accents for soldiers?
I get that its a post apocalypse setting but that doesn't mean everyone needs to talk in the same way.
Perhaps, we could have some 'new' accents which don't exist in the real world. Of course this would require imagination and some vocal talent.

In my opinion it seems that the soldier units in this game lack variety when it comes to cosmetics and appearance and that makes the units very bland. It'd be nice to have distinctive cosmetic options to individualize units and create a deeper connection between players and their soldiers.
I believe that modular armor pieces for each armor set, more hair styles, more and highly detailed faces, and body size/shape options would go a long way.

The Phoenix point armor is the only one that doesn't haves some coloring issues as it is. With that update to colors they need to fix transparency vs opaque. I prefer opaque across the board but if they want the option there should be a toggle.
