Tailor faction general missions to each faction's tendencies and attitude
Mike Ibeji
I hate the fact that the first general mission I get offered by Synedrion is a ‘Go trash somebody else’s place’ mission. It runs completely against the ethos of the Faction as presented, and utterly breaks the immersion for me.
It would be much better if the general missions were tailoured to both the espoused Tendencies of the Faction concerned, and their current Attitude to the other Factions:
• SYNEDRION’S early missions could involve resource gathering from Scavenging Sites for them, or investigating a ? near them; and only when their Attitude towards NJ or Anu slip into the Red would their missions degenerate into ‘crap on those guys for us, would you?’
• NJ’s early missions could target Anu, but might also involve some resource gathering.
• Anu’s early mission would target both NJ & Synedrion, as Unbelievers.
I am well aware that this suggestion plays to my prejudices, but it feels much more in-character for the Factions than the current missions we are being offered.

"I am well aware that this suggestion plays to my prejudices". Yes, so just ask for more mission variety and especially more faction specific tasks. Don't pretend one of these factions are "the good guys". They are each "the good guys". They are also each "the bad guys".
Your complaint is exactly applicable to New Jericho and Anu as well in the exact same way. Philosophically opposed to the other factions but nice guys until eventually there is war.
Meanwhile humanity is dying. You need to watch some Walking Dead or The 100 to get in the mood for what is actually going down here. This is not feel good Kumbaja time. This is zero sum game survival time. Look at each havens details. Look at the starvation rate. "Good Guys"? No, just desperate people willing to do anything to survive.

Synedrion is asking to trash a nests of assassins. It is in line with their ethos. NJ missions about the sattellite control, that's also in line. Also, the Anu mission with the massacre is right on the money.
But yes, even better alignment and differentiation could be done.

Florin Adrian: Those aren't the missions I'm talking about. I'm talking about the general missions that just pop up in the Diplomacy tab when the Factions don't have a specific Story Mission for us to do. It sticks in my craw when Synedrion, who are professing to be a peaceful alternative to the macho posturing that used to plague the old world, turn round to me and say: "Could you just blow up that NJ factory for us, there's a good chap?" Totally out of character.
Florin Adrian
Mike Ibeji: I see, those are indeed generic.
And totally optional. In fact, if you want to get to 3 x 100% earliest, you should avoid doing them and only do the 25%, 50% and 75% step missions. That's another thing that should be fixed, the fact that doing those missions is hurting your overall status more than helping it.
