Using vehicles to explore

It could be interesting to have an option to use a vehicle as a land explorer. That way they could be useful in the early game to speed up exploration simewhat and deny the need to steal aircraft of to build your own, since they are cheaper. Of course they should be slower and only should move on land.
Each of them could hold like 3 people (the number of soldiers that can't be fit in a ship if there is a vehicle present currently).

If something like this does get implemented, you could also argue for things like trade routes between havens and PP bases, sending the vehicle out with a small crew or maybe even volunteers from the haven your trading with. you may also be able to have things like escort missions, where you might be escorting a cargo shipment with vehicles and soldiers, protecting it from things like the pandorans or even other factions that might want the resources.

The point of an APC is supposed to be an armoured personnel CARRIER - something to transport your soldiers long distances. But since you can only deploy them on the relatively small PP maps, in practice vehicles get used as heavy weapons platforms until their ammo runs out, then as bullet sponges.
It would make vehicles a lot more useful if they could actually transport your soldiers around, as in outside of bases. You could assign a team of soldiers to a vehicle and put them on scavenging duty. After a randomised amount of time, they'd generate a Scavenging or Rescue mission. Then the vehicle could carry them back to base.
It'd relieve the pressure on your aircraft (at the moment there's a huge incentive to steal aircraft because you never have enough of the things).

Dude, this idea is simply awesome. I've been thinking of ways to extend the exploration late game as sometimes you just explore the entire world and the game suddenly loses one of its main attractions.
Even if you don't get to explore flying around, you at least can get more of these types of missions that otherwise would be locked out. You would lose access to those soldiers and the vehicle(s) during the vehicle exploration time and these missions could've lower rewards in general. Also, it could take a longer time to search so as to not spam them.
It could even have a chance of finding the lore points that are more generic, like the "nothing found", "abandoned base" and such.
