Vehicles/Mutog loadout and equipment
complete
Mehukannu
Would love to see vehicles (scarab, armadillo and aspida) and mutogs treated kinda like soldiers in that they would have their own varied equipment and weapon loadouts, maybe even armor plating
(in the case of mutogs you'd also have mutations and maybe even bionics!) to choose from to make them stand out better from each other and make them more interesting.
The vehicles could for example have heavy/light weapon points, utility and armor plating slots. Just so that it would be similar yet different from soldier inventory to get that nice heavy duty armament feel.

DLC 5 and patch 1.14 Azathoth (March 1 2022)
New Vehicle Customizations: Upgrade any vehicle with new engines, hull modules, or weaponry, mix and match their components and paint them how you want them to appear.
We didn’t want Mutogs to go unnoticed, so we’re reducing their deployment cost to 2 (from 3).

More information will be announced on March the 1st. As shown here:

I'd love to see loading them up and letting them travel like planes be an option. It was one of the first things I tried to do because of the tutorial storyline expressing that they traveled in one.
...I guess there would be some issues if the vehicle blew up in the combat scenario and your squad needed a new ride home.

Also make it so that soldiers can ride Mutogs into battle, when the Mutog has the Saddle attachment.
(It makes them easier to shoot at, but the rider can shoot independently of the Mutog's movement)

Heck yes. Having more modular vehicles with specialized purposes would be good. Currently I find the vehicles are very overpowered now because of how heavily armored, mobile, and practical they are to move units in/out to get quick cheapshots (albeit at 2 AP/soldier)

I would enjoy seeing an update to the Mutog. Maybe give it the priest ability to sense organic units within 15 squares and the priest screaming head reduce will points ability.

Great to hear this getting attention. At the moment, vehicles are a terrible choice to take on a mission. However, if i could reload weapons and fill them full of equipment and loot, they'd be a viable alternative to taking more guys/gals.
Mehukannu
Andy Foster: You can already fill them with loot by having a unit go in the vehicle and dropping the loot on the ground in the inventory screen. It's not very intuitive and should be changed in some way for sure, but at least you can fill it up with loot.
As for them being terrible I'd say they aren't. They are tough, have good speed and weapons are powerful on their own right. It is just hard (at least for me) to have yourself use them when you are used to having people on your squad on most missions before your first vehicle. Not to mention that you rarely change your squad members around in this game once you've built one up for an aircraft. So it can be hard to fit in a vehicle when you happen to get one, unless of course you build up a new squad.

Mehukannu: Thanks for the reply - I didn't know that about the inventory. I guess if vehicles can have reloads for their weapons I'll be more up for using them.
Mehukannu
Andy Foster: Reloads would be fine for sure. But from my experience the only vehicle that runs out of ammo during missions is the phoenix scarab, but then again those missiles are really powerful.
Andy Foster
Mehukannu: The Armadillo runs out of ammo too.
